Finance Business Partner (Part Qualified) – Poundstretcher
Poundstretcher, one of the UK’s leading discount retailers and now part of Fortress Investment Group, has an exciting opportunity for a part qualified Commercial Finance Analyst/Finance Business Partner to join our finance team. As we continue to grow and strengthen following the Fortress acquisition, you will play a key role in supporting our commercial objectives. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will partner closely with teams across Marketing, Retail, Property, and Buying to help drive profitable decision-making and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Produce weekly trading and monthly performance reports, working closely with business partners to identify performance drivers and recommend actions.
Provide high-quality, accurate, and timely business information to support strategic decision-making across the group.
Analyse and interpret large volumes of financial and operational data to draw meaningful insights and conclusions.
Support the budget and forecasting process, ensuring commercial risks and opportunities are communicated and addressed with relevant teams.
Collaborate with the Retail team to drive sales, margin, and profitability through financial analysis and constructive challenge.
Work closely with the Buying team to understand financial performance and identify opportunities for growth.
Assist the Property team in evaluating the performance of our store portfolio.
Support the month-end process with insights and analytics, owning any commercial finance-related tasks, including rebates.
About You
Ideally CIMA/ACCA part qualified with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial finance role.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data and financial models to inform business recommendations.
Previous experience in a Retail Finance team is preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to handle and manipulate large data sets.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience collaborating with non-financial stakeholders.
A proactive, flexible, and pragmatic approach, with the ability to handle complexity and present information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness, with the ability to challenge assumptions and provide alternative perspectives.
Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
