Area Manager – North East/West Yorkshire

Location: North East/West Yorkshire

We are seeking a dynamic Area Manager to lead our North East/West Yorkshire region operations. This challenging, fast-paced position requires exceptional organisational skills and the ability to drive performance across multiple locations.

Purpose of Role

As Area Manager, you will oversee and support approximately 30 retail stores across the North East/West Yorkshire region. Your primary responsibility is to motivate and lead a team of store managers to achieve ambitious business objectives while translating strategic goals into actionable short and long-term plans that drive sustainable, profitable sales growth.

You will work closely with our Central Operations team and support centre to develop operating priorities, establish accountability standards, and implement effective communication and training initiatives across your region.

Essential Experience

  • Retail Management: Minimum 2 years of large store retail management experience
  • Multi-site Leadership: At least 2 years managing multiple retail locations
  • Area Management: Minimum 2 years in an Area Manager role or similar senior multi-site position
  • Preferred: Discount retail experience (advantageous but not essential)

Key Performance Indicators

  • Deliver area sales budget targets (like-for-like and overall performance)
  • Maintain area salary costs within budgeted percentage of turnover
  • Achieve shrinkage reduction targets across all locations
  • Drive area profitability in line with annual budget
  • Ensure 95% product availability on core product range
  • Champion key company compliance standards and initiatives
